Answer:
It’ just a preference. Some guys mind pubic hair, others have absolutely no problem with it. But from my experience, most guts like it neat and clean. This doesn’t always necessarily mean you have to be shaved down there. Just keep the hairs in check, trim it a little. (FAQ: How to shave down there?)
Personal hygiene is important too. Wash down there on a daily basis. This keeps unwanted odors away. Just use clean water, a washing cloth and NO soap whatsoever. Rinse thoroughly. Guys usually care about the smell and taste of you down there and maintaining a good personal hygiene is the best solution to this.
