Anonymous asked: My boyfriend and I are planning to lose our virginity together soon. Recommended contraceptives? He'll be using protection, but I just want to be 100% sure. Preferably something easily hidden/concealed; I live with people who I'd much rather not have knowing about my - er - sexual doings...

Answer:

Well, a condom is very safe. Using a condom and birth control is even safer. But don’t use birth control and no condom. It’s safe against pregnancies, but not against getting a STD. A condom is the only thing that can protect you against an unwanted pregnancy and STD’s. So if you are up to using birth control as an extra for protection, that’s good. It’s easy to use -if you don’t forget- and you can just put it away in your purse or dresser. BUT, I want to warn you. You should inform yourself about birth control and discuss about it with your doctor. Birth control has some proven and still unproven side effects that you want to know before you start using it. Also, If you are younger than 17/18, I would highly advise you to wait with taking the pill.
